5 Tips to Avoid Back Pain After a Spin Class!

Updated: Dec 26, 2019

I love attending my Spin Class every Saturday Morning. It is a great way to kickstart your weekend & burn some calories while having fun! However, what I cannot help but notice as a Physio is the terrible posture people fall into during the class leading them to back pain. So, here are few tips to keep spinning without hurting your back:

✔️Adjust your seat height so that your hips are higher than your knees.

✔️Do not lean too forward on your spin bike ending up slouching in your lower back. In other words, do not start leaning on the bike as you begin to get tired. Work those legs!

✔️When getting in a squat position on the Spin Bike, achieve the squat by bending through your knees & not your back.

✔️If you have a hard time adjusting your Bike, ask for help instead of spinning in the incorrect position!

✔️And always remember to do your stretches before and after a spin class.
